October 11- 17 2009 is National Veterinary Technician Week!
What do vet techs do?
Vet techs work with veterinarians, practice managers, receptionists, pet owners, and of course the pet patients, all in the course of a day. Vet techs clean teeth, insert IVs, give medications, assist with surgery, take radiographs, and assist in exam rooms in vet hospitals everywhere. They also work in referral (specialty) practices performing a variety of specialized medical tasks.
They do so much! Vet techs are the unsung heroes.
Celebrate Vet Techs
It’s the week to do it. Give a special hello or other sign of appreciation this week for the vet tech in your life. Got ideas for how to commemorate Veterinary Technician Week?
Here’s how we celebrated (this is not an ad for Starbucks).
