Teva’s story continues
For those of you following Teva’s story, here is a sweet update on her now-famous yellow ball. Big ❤ to Teva and Heather.
Yellow Ball as Her Binky
Road Trip!
As I wrote in the previous post, our best buddy Teva is undergoing treatment for lymphoma. I am hitting the road with Teva the Wunderdog and Heather tomorrow to revisit the WSU oncology team for more cancer-fighting fun.
We have snacks. We have fresh water. Lots of chat time. And dog cookies – must have dog cookies.
My pet clan is staying home, but we’ll be back soon.

As much as I want to pack you, Quincy, not gonna happen.

All in a day’s work
Quincy is a mix of innocent curiosity and naughtiness. He spends his days sleeping and his nights and early mornings getting in all sorts of trouble.
A peek at a typical Quincy Day

Just minding his own business. Or is he?
Just a regular morning. Or is it?

Look closely...
When bored of the Invisi-cat Shield, there is always the Invisi-cat Couch.

Note: the black fabric is *supposed* to be attached to the underside of the couch. :-/
Bengals are known for their love of water. We fill up a sink or tub for him to play in, but of course the pet water dish is the most fun of all.

Every morning I find water, toys and 'stuff' in the dog water. I wonder why.
Let’s take a closer look. Apparently, the water tastes better if you give it a good swish or two.
Oh, how the kitties love their cat climber. It is a gym on a pole.

This cheap cat climber was the best investment ever. Hours of fun. And...
Since the cats run full tilt at this thing many times a day, I didn’t even look up as I was eating breakfast. But then I heard crashing and thrashing.

...apparently a way to get up on the teeny tiny valance rod, walk across, and lose your balance.
This makes for a very tired kitty.

Yep. All in a day's work.
Hair Bear!
Ewwww hairballs! We’ve all seen them, but here is a new twist on pet hair awareness…
This is ‘my’ creation for the big Hairball Awareness Day event, which is today. I interviewed Caroline Golon, staff of Romeo the cat (spokescat for this event) on About.com so people can learn more about Hairball Awareness Day.
I say ‘my’ because the concept and creation of Hair Bear was actually my 11 year old daughter. I just made the glass beads and brushed the furry participants.
This is a collaborative effort on behalf of the pets, too.
The participants:
- Barnie – main body (black)
- Quincy and Sophie – light brown belly, face and paws
- Argos and Purl – eyes
The heart is felt and the claws and teeth are polyfill.
Check out everyone’s furry creations on PeoplePets!
And now, the rest of the story: The HairBear that almost wasn’t
Psssst! Get ready!
Heads up… Tomorrow is
Lots of fun stuff and photos to come.
In the meantime, brush up on hairballs and check out my review of the FURminator tool for Long Hair / Big Cats (e.g. Barnie).
Invisi-Cat Unleashed!
Barnie was the originator of the Invisi-Cat Shield, but he seems to have outgrown it. He made good use of it in his day. He was an expert at slithering in the shield, ready and waiting for his next victim.
Quincy has now inherited the Invisi-Cat Shield, and he utilizes it just about daily. He takes the job very seriously. He still has a few things to learn, though.
The first thing would be how to enter the shield. I have yet to catch him with the camera – but he uses both front paws, his face, a back paw and his tail to rumple up the shield and find an entry port. Barnie wins finesse points here.
Quincy also needs to learn that Barnie might not be the best attack subject, being a cat and being wise to the ways of the shield and all, but… he tries.
(sorry for the photo quality on some of these – cell phone photos!)

Meanwhile, Barnie ignores Invisi-Cat Quincy and hops up to the windowsill above.
Finished surveying the outside world, Barnie hops down from the sill and walks right past Invisi-Cat Quincy.

Apparently another cat is too smart for this. Dogs are better subjects.

One annoying and cute thing the dogs do is crowd in the bathroom when I am getting ready to leave. It was OK with one dog, a little cozy with two, and now with three plus an Invisi-Cat, it is pretty crowded. It did make it a little easier for Quincy to pick his victims, though.
