postheadericon Grateful for adoptions

Yesterday I was honored to speak with Hilary Swank, the 2009-2010 spokeswoman for the Iams Home for the Holidays adoption campaign. They released the numbers yesterday – 1,363,638 animals were adopted between October 1 and January 4, 2010.

Pet adoptions are personal and important to me

All of my pets are adopted by one means or another. Barnie the Cat was found in … the barn, the other cats all rescued from various situations, Sophie was rescued from the shelter, and Argos is an ex-racer rescue.

From all of us… we are grateful

We are so thankful for everyone working to save animals. From Hilary Swank to kennel cleaners to veterinarians to my sweet 89-year old neighbors (husband and wife) who regularly visit the local shelter with donations of food, cat litter and cash. Every little bit helps.
